NSA registration system
Date posted: January 21, 2013

When I was promoted one of my new duties was to tackle the aging infrastructure behind the NSA website.

I devised a new registration system that could be easily extensible and would be relatively simple in operation. Although the front end did not change that much the underbelly that powers it was vastly upgraded.

Key features were:

  • Voucher and early bird system that can be administered by the marketers
  • Adaptable system for more bespoke conference websites
  • A unified base that can be easily bug fixed
  • Auto evaluation form and conference expiry

All modifications to the NSA websites underbelly is in preparation for a shift over to a more publisher friendly architecture.

I also deployed a full server migration at the beginning of my new role which proved to be the kick start I needed to learn all things code.
